It is with some regret and much appreciation that I announce my retirement effective June 30, 2023.
This difficult decision was prompted by long-haul Covid symptoms dominated by fatigue requiring 10 hours of sleep each night (the illness got me late in 2020, 3 months before vaccinations were available). I thereby was forced to realize my 40+ years offering the best of myself was coming to an end and I regret having to forgo providing further support in a professional setting.
I leave my career with enormous appreciation for the many blessings of this work. Chief among those blessings is very deep gratitude for the clients who entrusted me with their questions, their needs, their pain. And gratitude also for the many things THEY taught ME. The very best of psychotherapy, as with all of human experience, comes not from books (or these days, screens) but from real human connection. Accordingly, I am also enormously grateful for the colleagues who taught me from their own humanity, while also seeing and encouraging the best in me.
